Platinum-selling rapper Rich Homie Quan, hailing from Atlanta, has passed away, TMZ Hip Hop has confirmed.
Quan, born Dequantes Lamar, was found dead on Thursday at his home in Atlanta, according to his family and a representative from the Fulton County morgue.
Rich Homie Quan's family shared their grief with TMZ Hip Hop, expressing that they are devastated by his sudden passing. As of now, the cause of his death remains unknown, and his family is seeking answers.
RHQ first gained widespread attention in 2013 with his breakout hit, "Type of Way," which quickly became a fan favorite. He continued his rise in the music scene with hits like "Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)" and "Ride Out."
Quan later collaborated with Young Thug on the "Rich Gang" project under Cash Money Records and frequently worked with fellow Atlanta artists, including 2 Chainz and Jacquees.
In a recent conversation, Quan voiced his concerns about the current state of hip hop, criticizing the violent lyrics and repetitive song formats.
