Elon Musk boasts of 1B views for 'no limits' X interview with Donald Trump
According to the tech billionaire, Elon Musk's
conversational chat with former President Trump on Monday night received a
total of 1 billion views.
Early on Tuesday morning, Musk shared on his social media platform X,
"Combined views of the conversation with @realDonaldTrump and subsequent
discussion by other accounts now ~1 billion," in reference to the
interview.
The statement was sent out in response to an earlier post
that stated, "President Donald Trump's Space post received 73 million
views between 7:47 PM and 10:47 PM ET." Elon Musk and President Trump's
conversation on 𝕏 was the subject of 4 million posts during the
same period, garnering 998 million views overall.
During a two-hour audio-only interview on Monday night on Twitter Space, Trump
and Musk discussed a wide range of topics, including the 45th president's
immigration problems, rising inflation, the attempt on his life, and the
policies he would enact if he wins the election on November 5.
"It's estimated that nearly 20 million people have entered our nation. Many are ex-offenders from prisons, mental health facilities, or, to put it more broadly, crazy asylums. Additionally, a large number are terrorists. And they're not just from South America, I'll tell you that. Their origins are in Africa. They are traveling from all around the globe. Their origins are in Asia. "They're traveling from the Middle East," Trump informed Musk, who had given him an early-year endorsement.
Trump claimed that even though Vice President Kamala Harris
had just made statements pledging to handle the escalating border situation if
elected, she and President Biden have years to address migration but
"won't do anything."
"She was given three and a half years, and they still have five months
left to take action. But they are not going to act. All of it is talk. Both she
and he lack competence. Furthermore, he remarked, "To be honest, I believe
she is more incompetent than he is, which is saying something considering how
bad he is."
After a "massive" distributed denial-of-service
attack on the platform that caused delays, Musk revealed on X, Trump's
interview with Musk began after 8:30 p.m. on Monday. According to Musk's count,
the interview attracted one billion viewers despite the interruption.
During the talk, Trump again touched on Biden's withdrawal from the 2024
contest, claiming that Biden was forced to withdraw by a Democratic
"coup". Last month, Biden withdrew from the campaign due to growing
worries about his mental capacity and age of 81, as well as calls from
Democrats and longstanding party allies.
It was a coup. This was a presidential coup for the United
States. They told him, "We can do it the hard way, or we can do it the
pleasant way," since he didn't want to go," according to Trump.
Musk went on, "They just took him out back behind the shed and basically
shot him," and then Trump called Biden "the worst president in
history."
The 45th president also criticized Harris for avoiding
interviews and the media ever since she was announced as the Democratic Party's
2024 nominee. As of Tuesday, Harris has been away from formal press conferences
and sit-down interviews for 23 days, including one for a cover story in Time
magazine.
"It's quite depressing to consider that someone who makes this their
profession is unable to respond to inquiries or is uncomfortable doing
interviews—in her case, extremely cordial ones. She has very cordial
interviewers," Trump remarked.
Following the interview, Musk declared he was "happy to host Kamala"
in the same manner.
